You can add variables to a template's "display name" -- This allows you to provide end-user with templates with customized labels that include their name, today's date, etc.
Step 1: Attach your template to a Page Block
Step 2: Click on the display name
Step 3: Use the 'add variable' button (visible at top-left of the App Builder) to add variables to the display name
